Lent, Day 26: Like arrows in the hands of a warrior.

"Attack!"
my sons and their friends

The psalmist says that unless the Lord builds the house, those who labor, do so in vain. And then he says, "Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court."(Psa 127:3-5 TNIV)

Unless the Lord builds the house, I think as I consider my own sons. Surely this pilgrimage to the cross is not for myself alone, nor do I make it alone. I am part of a family formed and sustained by God - my efforts to surrender myself are all the more important, for the more I do, the more he can do.
