Absence sucks!

I am waiting to hear from my wife whether she and our sons have made it safely across the country. Absence may make the heart grow fonder, but, after a day or so, it fundamentally sucks. The lights of my life – that is what I am missing and eagerly waiting to be restored to. Anyway, a hardy shout out to my colleague, Prof. Waites, hoping the Wardrobe has opened magically and well. And a couple of articles from a woman whose prose makes me tear up and smile. Ms. Gurdon writes about the angst of raising children in this present darkness and about the grace of aging. The article on aging reminds me of how I once carpooled with three (!!!) pregnant women – may I say there are things I wish I didn’t know which learned on those drives.

I feel your pain. Rene and the boys spent 3 weeks at grandma's this summer while I was attending meetings and seminars. Yuck.

Hey, Doc... This morning at church I went to the high school class because our college class wasn't meeting today. Well, the teacher mentioned Sadducees, and asked if anyone knew why they were "sad you see". I slapped a hand to my forhead in your honor for that one. I knew that if you were there, it would not go unnoticed or unpunished. Haha. Also, I thought about alky-hol streams and the big rock candy mountain during the sermon. Good times. I trust all is well? Good day.
