A Sinai Visitation on the West Coast

Great news in the LA Times today - the Getty will display 53 items, mostly icons, from St. Catherine's Monastary at Mt. Sinai, and will do so in an environment meant to emphasize their devotional nature. St. Catherine's is the oldest, continually operating monastary in the world and its collection of icons and related religious artifacts is among the greatest. Oh, and for you cynics, the Getty is coming by this incredible coup legally.
